Power the Way for Education, Inc. which is non-profit organization that was created to assist with scholarships, career counseling, and tutoring for any man or women that would like to purse an education in the utility line industry.

With a 100% placement rate Power the Way for Education Inc. would like to share our workshops with community members. Power the Way for Education, Inc. offers a 4 workshop series each year. These workshops have been created by Jillian Gentle. Jillian have over 15 years Career Service experience and is also a New York State Licensed Instructor.

Our goal is to partner with local organization to provide quality  programs to community members and our applicants.

The following is a brief description of each program that id offered and the estimated time of each program.

Resume writing - Whether you have an outdated resume or you need to create one, come learn the do's and don’ts of resume writing for today's job market and learn the tips and tricks to get noticed in any industry.  (If you want to add also cover letter writing to this workshop you can.  A lot people ask about writing one.  Description would be:  Learn how to write an easy way to write a cover letter and tailor it for each job you want to apply for).  This workshops with just resume writing would be about a 1.5 hours minimum.  With cover letter writing, 2 hours. (Time after for resume critique if needed)

Dressing for the job - How important are first impressions?  What can you do to make sure you are "getting noticed" from interview to promotion.  Tips and tricks on dressing for success on a budget. (1-1.5 hours) I will be working on getting clothing donated so that everyone that attended will have an outfit when they leave.

Social Media in the Workplace - To live or not to live without social media...That is the question! Come and here how you can use social media to start or advance your career and learn how it can damage your professional image.  Tips and tricks to keep on a positive path with social media. (1-1.5 hours)

Mock Interviews - Get down to business with do's and don’ts on interviewing.  Participate in mock interviews and adopt positive interview habits that will make your next interview lead to a job offer.  (2 hours)
